Regional centers in Minn. to aim at best practices to improve schools

Minnesota Department of Education and Gov. Mark Dayton have announced plans to open three regional centers -- modeled after a successful school-improvement program in St. Cloud -- designed to help schools close achievement gaps, boost graduation rates and improve student progress. The centers cross district lines, creating regional networks for teachers to share best practices and from which specialists will be dispatched to schools to support professional development and coaching.
