Calif. stress-ribbon design bridge longest of its kind in world

The last of 87 precast concrete panels have been attached as part of construction on a bridge that will allow for foot and bicycle traffic across Lake Hodges in California. When completed in March 2009, the 990-foot-long stress-ribbon bridge will be the longest of its kind in the world. T.Y. Lin International designed the innovative bridge linking Rancho Bernardo and Escondido.
