Boom coming for locally targeted display ads, consultancy says

Geo-targeted display advertisements -- designed to reach only viewers from specific locales -- will be the next big thing in online advertising, according to the consultants at BIA/Kelsey. The firm expects such ads to comprise 15% of all online display ad units by 2013, with $1.9 billion in sales largely to small- and medium-sized businesses.
