Folic acid may not prevent colon polyp recurrence

Researchers found that people previously diagnosed with colon polyps who take folic acid daily may not reduce their chances of recurring colon polyps. People with low vitamin B levels, however, especially those who drank a lot of alcohol, reduced their risk of recurrent adenoma by about 40% after taking folate supplements, the study found.
