Italian fashion houses test online stores

Valentino Fashion Group, Giorgio Armani and other Italian fashion houses traditionally have avoided putting their products online. This year, however, the companies have decided to test virtual stores as they seek new revenue sources. The acceptance of online shopping by Italian consumers, coupled with the economic downturn, has sparked more luxury-goods firms to embrace the Internet.
