Severe weather soaks North Carolina, prompts tornado watch

A severe weather system that rolled into North Carolina on Wednesday brought heavy rain and destructive winds, prompting officials to issue a tornado watch in eastern counties. Intense storms also could hit South Carolina and cause severe flooding, forecasters said.
