Nielsen: IPhone, BlackBerry in smartphone "dead-heat"

Research in Motion's BlackBerry and Apple's iPhone devices tied for the top spot in the U.S. smartphone market in October, with each earning a 27% share, according to a Nielsen report that tagged Android in third place at 22%. Nielsen said smartphones comprised 30% of the cell phones in the country and found a gender gap for smartphone preferences.
