More ambulatory providers adopt EHRs, federal survey finds

Initial results from the 2011 National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey indicated that almost 34% of responding office-based providers own a basic EHR system, up from 25% a year ago. The results also revealed that the number of providers who plan to demonstrate meaningful use of EHRs and qualify for incentives increased from 41% last year to 52% this year.
