Analysis: T-Mobile poised to benefit from unlocked iPhone

T-Mobile USA, the lone major carrier that does not offer the iPhone, has rigged its HSPA+ wireless networks in 15 markets to work with the iPhone and could benefit from Apple's decision to sell an unlocked version of the smartphone for $650. While T-Mobile has yet to complete a deal with Apple, its subscribers in those areas can buy nano-SIM cards that will enable the iPhone to work on T-Mobile's network. An analysis of the situation notes that the cost of the unlocked device might be holding up a T-Mobile decision to sell the iPhone.
