Metformin may curb depression risk in diabetes patients

Type 2 diabetes patients who were on metformin treatment had a reduced risk of mood disorders such as depression, as well as Parkinson's disease and dementia, especially if sulfonylurea drugs were used as an add-on therapy, a study from Taiwan showed. The results appear in BMC Medicine.
