What changes are expected in revised diagnostic manual?

The revised Diagnostic and Statistical Manual due out in May no longer will include Asperger's Syndrome as a separate diagnosis. Instead, it will fall under the broader category of autism spectrum disorder. Dyslexia, too, will be covered by several categories of learning disabilities, and a new disorder called disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD) will be used for children who display severe temper tantrums, who some say may have been misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder.
