AAR: Rail carload, intermodal traffic continues growth streak

Freight carload traffic of U.S. railroads increased 17.4% in the week ending Nov. 23 year-on-year, while intermodal volume rose 37.7%, according to the Association of American Railroads. Each of the 10 carload categories posted gains, with shipments of motor vehicles and parts posting the highest growth at 42.2%. Overall traffic in the U.S. gained 26.2% in the latest week, AAR noted.
