The importance of profit in cutting carbon emissions

To reduce global atmospheric carbon, we need to make carbon reductions profitable, says Graciela Chichilnisky, a professor at Columbia University and a co-founder of Global Thermostat, a carbon-capture company that aims to make reducing emission easier and cheaper for utility-scale polluters. "If you make money out of cleaning the atmosphere, improvements will happen," she says.
