Middle-schoolers build character through acting

An extracurricular drama club at a Miami middle school is credited for helping build students' confidence and character. Through a partnership with Miami Shores' Miami Theater Center, students learn focus, empathy and trust while performing acting exercises with their teachers and professional actors, assistant principal Fernando Diaz said. "The students gain awareness and how to perform or do public speaking or how to carry themselves in a public manner," he said.
