More students at Mass. school flock to AP courses

A Massachusetts school has opened Advanced Placement courses to more students -- and many are passing -- as part of the Mass Math and Science Initiative. Hundreds of students are enrolled in AP English, math and science courses, as well as AP studio art, Spanish, American history, European history and government classes. The goal, officials say, is to expose more students to the rigor and setting of AP courses, similar to college classes, to encourage the pursuit of education beyond high school.
