Texas district reports benefits of Breakfast in the Classroom program

Schools in the Dallas Independent School District that are serving free breakfasts in classrooms have noticed some benefits, including fewer reports of behavioral problems and bullying, says Dora Rivas, executive director of the district's food and child nutrition services. In two years, all schools in the district will be participating in the Breakfast in the Classroom program under a mandate adopted by the board of trustees.
