Napster founder launches new online music service

Napster founder and online music file-sharing pioneer Shawn Fanning, once viewed by the record industry as their top enemy, yesterday launched a new service aimed at giving record companies and artists another opportunity to make money on Internet music. His new company, Snocap, lets artists and record labels manage online distribution of music through Snocap's copyright management system.
