Nashville hotel rates rise, but occupancy rates stay the same

Hotel rates in Nashville, Tenn., continue to rise, even as occupancy rates for the most part remain the same, and some in the city are questioning whether the market warrants a new convention center. Supporters of the $455 million center say it is needed in order to help the city grow. "If you don't grow, you die," said Greater Nashville Hotel & Lodging Association CEO Walt Baker.
