Panel says FDA needs more science resources

The FDA must get more money, hire more scientists and boost its science infrastructure to avoid putting American lives at risk, an FDA advisory panel said at a public meeting Monday. The panel, chaired by Eli Lilly and Co. executive Gail Cassell, includes representatives from Genentech and Wyeth. They presented their findings to FDA Commissioner Dr. Andrew von Eschenbach.
