Report: Excessive red meat consumption ups colon cancer risk

Consuming red meat, and especially processed meats, in excessive amounts can increase a person's risk of developing colon cancer, according to a report from the American Institute for Cancer Research. The institute recommends limiting red meat consumption to 18 cooked ounces per week.
