U.S. to sign imported-product safety pacts with China

The U.S. and China are scheduled to seal two sets of agreements next week on the safety of imported Chinese food, feed, drugs and medical devices, HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt said Monday. The agreements, which follow a series of Chinese recalls, require that products pass U.S. safety standards before being cleared for export.
