Costs of college becoming out of reach for many

Rising college costs have reached levels where tuition may be unaffordable for most Americans, according to a report by the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education. Tuition and fees rose 439% from 1982 to 2007, while median family income rose just 147% during the same time period. Student borrowing, as a result, has more than doubled in the past 10 years.
