Finding "meaning" through work can boost employee morale

A study conducted at the University of Alberta indicates absenteeism and turnover can be reduced significantly by asking workers to rethink their jobs. "We discovered that people who are able to find meaning and purpose in their work, and can see how they make a difference through that work, are healthier, happier and more productive employees," study co-author Val Kinjerski said.
