GE anticipates wider wind presence in Brazil

General Electric expects about $1 billion in wind-turbine orders annually from Brazilian projects through 2022, said Vic Abate, head of GE's renewable-energy unit. Brazil plans to add between 1.5 gigawatts and 3 gigawatts of capacity annually, and GE will be among "three or four players" in the market, Abate says. "Two years ago, we were zero, and now it's over a billion dollars a year," Abate said.
