Kan. project gets $247M investment from GE, Metlife, Union Bank

General Electric, Metlife and Union Bank have committed $247 million to the Post Rock wind project being constructed by Wind Capital Group in Kansas' Lincoln and Ellsworth counties. GE will furnish 134 wind turbines for the project, which was commissioned by renewable energy firm NTR. Upon completion, the 201-megawatt wind project will sell its power to Westar Energy.
