Survey shows knowledge gaps on management of pediatric epilepsy

Many pediatricians, family doctors and neurologists/neurosurgeons in central Texas lacked knowledge on how to diagnose and treat children with epilepsy, a survey revealed. The findings, presented at the American Epilepsy Society meeting, showed that many of the respondents didn't know when to consider drug treatment or refer for surgery.
