Temporary supply shortage for Adenoscan® (adenosine injection)

12/3/2012

There is currently a temporary supply shortage for Adenoscan® (adenosine injection), which is produced by Astellas Pharma. This situation is expected to be resolved by the first quarter of 2013. Astellas is not withdrawing or recalling Adenoscan from the market. This shortage is due to unanticipated demand. Please contact the Astellas Medical Communications Department at 800-727-7003 if you have any medical questions. Your distributor may still have product available -- please contact your supplier for updated information. While this shortage exists, regadenoson or dipyridamole may be considered as alternative agents. For usage information, please view ASNC's Imaging Guidelines for Stress Protocols.
