Twinkies more likely to survive than Wonder in Hostess sell-off

Some, if not all, of the Hostess sub-brands are likely to be purchased out of the bankruptcy liquidation to survive another day, E.J. Schultz writes. Analysts say the snack division -- which includes Twinkies, Ho Hos and Ding Dongs -- is more likely to be snapped up than the Wonder Bread brand. Hostess snacks have sold well despite almost no advertising support, whereas the bread category has been shrinking for some time as consumers choose healthier options.
