Ala. university, schools partner to improve teacher training

A university and school district in Birmingham, Ala., have formed a collaboration on teacher training and instructional research to improve urban students' learning. The University of Alabama at Birmingham will first work with two elementary schools to allow its student-teachers access to in-classroom training and to develop after-school and literacy programs.
