Blacks with diabetes show poorer outcomes in study

A study in Diabetes Care found fewer blacks with diabetes than non-Hispanic whites attained A1C of less than 7%, bad cholesterol rates less than 100 mg/dL and blood pressure levels lower than 140/90 mm Hg. Researchers also found black patients were less likely than whites to receive A1C screening and flu shots despite being in a patient-centered medical home setting.
