BOEM: New Gulf drilling leases up for bid next year

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management will hold a drilling lease sale in March to auction 465,200 acres in the eastern part of the Gulf of Mexico. The auction "is another important step to promote responsible domestic energy production through the safe, environmentally sound exploration and development of the nation's offshore energy resources," said BOEM Director Tommy Beaudreau.
