Google jumps into the enterprise-cloud business

Google says it's launching its IaaS Google Compute Engine for the enterprise, indicating it's eager to become a player in the business-cloud marketplace. The company has lowered prices for the service and has pledged 99.95% availability. "We have an incredibly high bar for what general availability means," said Brian Goldfarb, Google's head of cloud-platform marketing.
