H&M targets in-store shoppers to boost text, e-mail campaigns

Clothing retailer H&M is offering instant in-store coupons for customers who agree to receive e-mail and text notices as a way to translate the holiday surge in foot traffic into online followers. "H&M's tactic to use SMS to simultaneously collect an e-mail and mobile opt-in is not only clever and efficient but actually hits on eight of the top 10 attributes of a successful SMS campaign," Sumotext CEO Tim Miller said.
