How Foursquare changes public spaces

Foursquare can radically change the ways in which public spaces are used and perceived, at least for people who use the service heavily, Cornell University researchers say. A study found that super-users were more aware of and more likely to interact with those around them. "Foursquare clearly created heightened awareness of the people around them, and a stronger connection to the actual places where those encounters might take place," Emily Badger writes.
