Outsourcing will take a bite out of new IT hires, data show

American businesses hired just 77,600 full-time tech workers over the past 12 months, data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show. A survey from Mondo reports that more companies are turning to outside contractors to take care of their IT needs. The survey found that CIOs are responding to higher budgets coupled with continued uncertainty by increasing their reliance on contractors, with nearly half of respondents saying they will lessen their dependence on staff and funnel more money to outsourcing over the next year.
