Physicians adopt "New Hospice" practice model

Some physicians have adopted what is called the "New Hospice" practice model of treating patients at nursing homes or at home long before death. In Florida, HPH Hospice medical services chief Dr. David McGrew said care extends beyond medicine to help address patients' goals as well as spiritual and legal issues. Study data show that palliative and hospice services may help patients live longer, McGraw said.
