Shanghai tops new PISA rankings

Students in Asian countries placed at the top of the 2012 Programme for International Student Assessment among those from 34 countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, according to results released today. The results show that students in Shanghai lead the world in achievement in maths, reading and science -- attributed largely to the city's rigourous academic standards and investment in teacher development.
