Studies show healthy overweight people still have higher risks

A review of data from eight studies found overweight people who were metabolically healthy still had more strokes and heart attacks when compared with people at normal weight, Canadian researchers reported in the Annals of Internal Medicine. Looking at data over 30 years, researchers said metabolically healthy but obese people initially did not seem to be at higher risk, but over time they were 24% more likely than those who were thinner to die or have a heart attack, stroke or heart failure.
