Wash. district drops cafeteria palm scanners

A school district in Washington state has abandoned plans to expand the use of palm scanners in school cafeterias after receiving complaints about the use of the devices in two schools. Officials said there was a lack of communication about the use of the scanners. The school board plans to study other options for cafeterias, and some parents have asked to be included in that process.
