Bone, tendon repair potential seen with stem cell discovery

Researchers in Texas say a sugar molecule present on embryonic stem cells also has been found on a type of adult stem cell, raising the prospect that isolation and purification of adult stem cells could lead to their therapeutic use. The molecule was found on certain stem cells in bone marrow that give rise to fat, cartilage and bone.
