Ericsson CEO more optimistic Qualcomm deal can be made

Ericsson's CEO said he was "slightly more optimistic than in the past" that his company and others would be able to reach an agreement with Qualcomm over reducing the latter's royalty charges. Ericsson and other vendors complain Qualcomm overcharges for royalties it has on W-CDMA technology, but with rival technology WiMAX they have in interest in lowering W-CDMA's cost.
