San Diego International Airport struggles with growing pains

Planning officials with San Diego International Airport are focusing on a $550 million master plan to maximize the airport's current capacity in the wake of the defeat of a November ballot question to transform Miramar Marine Corps Air Station into a commercial airport. The current site is facing an anticipated 32 million annual passengers by 2030 with its existing 661-acre, one-runway facility.
