VW knocks off its own crash spots

The edgy "Safe Happen" ads for the Volkswagen Jetta worked so well that creative shop Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Miami, used a similar theme for the VW Passat. The spots, which realistically depict a car crash, also resonated with USA TODAY Ad Track participants, with 26% rating them "very effective," versus the average of 20%.
