South Carolina teachers, students work to curb dropout rate

About 900 South Carolina educators, students, business leaders and others met this week to discuss how to raise the state's graduation rate, which is now among the worst in the U.S. The meeting marked the start of the state's "Graduation Matters" campaign, and topics discussed at the summit included early identification of students at risk of dropping out and providing mentors for students.
