$1.2 billion raised for new Lone Star distressed real estate funds

Two Lone Star funds targeting distressed commercial real estate and securities have brought in more than $1.2 billion from investors. As traditional private equity remains largely out of the market, veteran investors in distressed assets such as Lone Star Funds are looking for opportunities to buy commercial property and securities at significantly discounted prices. Distressed financial institutions are also potential acquisition targets.
