Rural, urban hospitals provide similar care, outcomes

An eight-year study of 548 U.S. hospitals found heart patients at rural and urban centers had comparable quality of care and similar survival rates. Researchers said there were differences, however, in availability of cardiac surgery and that patients in rural areas tended to be older and have higher rates of heart failure.
