Holiday parties are coming back with smaller budgets

Companies that scaled way back on off-site and catered holiday parties during the downturn are starting to feel a bit more festive again, but restaurateurs and caterers say the former big spenders are still keeping a tight hand on the purse strings. Holiday party business at Morton's Restaurant Group is up over last year, but functions are smaller, and some companies are opting for less-pricey lunch parties.
