New Jersey man shares love of flying with 14-year-old daughter

Thomas Ploch of North Caldwell, N.J., thought learning to fly a glider was a great idea for his daughter, Hannah. "Gliders are very safe. The most dangerous part of gliding is driving to the airport," said Ploch. The 14-year-old has grown up around planes since she was 2. "Dad's always been flying," she said. "He wanted me to do it, so I did it." Hannah is working toward getting her solo license in the spring of next year.
