Saudi Arabia plans to boost reliance on clean energy sources

Saudi Arabia intends to generate 9 gigawatts of power from wind turbines by 2032, according to a report in a Riyadh newspaper, citing Khalid al-Sulaiman, vice president of the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy. The country also plans to generate 18 GW from nuclear, 1,000 megawatts from geothermal and 3,000 MW from waste biomass, al-Sulaiman said.
