Senate approves DOD spending bill for $650B

The Senate has unanimously passed a Department of Defense budget of $650 billion, including authorizations for military spending of $525.3 billion and $88.5 billion in spending for ongoing wars. A House-Senate conference committee has convened to piece together the final legislation.
